Leading European Digital Services Provider DX3 Technologies Ltd. (DX3) announces that it has become the first digital service provider to secure simultaneous UK dual affiliate licensing deals with all four record industry 'majors' - Universal, EMI Sony BMG and Warner Music Group. The multi -platform distribution deals, for both online and mobile, will allow DX3 to offer a totally unrivalled music catalogue as part of its white label service.
While other providers currently have extensive online download catalogues, until now, no network independent provider has managed to partner with all the majors for the UK mobile market. According to Mintel research, ringtones are believed to make up at least one third of the mobile download market, estimated to be worth £320 million in 2004 and predicted to double in 2005.
The landmark announcement brings together artists such as U2, The Scissor Sisters (Universal), Britney Spears, Westlife (Sony BMG), Robbie Williams, Gorillaz (EMI) The Darkness and Sean Paul (Warner), providing retailers and media partners with the opportunity of being able to access every catalogue across dual platforms from a single source. The strength of such a deal can best be demonstrated through the fact that artists from the new DX3 catalogue filled 35 of the top forty positions in The UK Charts last week.
DX3 CEO Andy Baker says, "No one else has achieved deals of this nature with all four majors. This demonstrates that not only is DX3 leading the way by providing media groups and retailers with a complete multi -platform digital music service, but we are also leading in providing the most comprehensive selection of popular music to make these services a success for our customers. These deals place DX3 right at the forefront of the download revolution; a position we intend to maintain".
Long established as a back -end supplier of online musical services - having sold the first legal download in Europe in 2001, DX3 continues to develop pioneering technical solutions for content management and distribution, written using best -practice tools and techniques.
DX3 has a number of high profile distribution agreements in place, providing white label services for EMAP TV - Kerrang!, The Hits and The Box television channels - and Woolworths.
DX3 also has licensing deals with independent distributors such as Vital:PIAS and leading independent labels including V2 and Sanctuary.
