Latest Addition to Its RIDATA Lineup Delivers Digital Terrestrial Television and Radio Signals to PC, Laptop, and Other Mobile Devices; Debut Slated for 2006 International CES
Diamond Bar, CA - -December 5, 2005 - -Advanced Media, Inc., manufacturer and marketer of the popular RIDATA brand of recordable CD and DVD media, electronic storage products, and digital media accessories, is set to introduce a USB -powered digital video broadcasting -terrestrial (DVB -T) tuner. The unit allows over -the -air or broadcast digital television signals to be received by and shown on PCs, laptops, or other mobile devices such as PDAs. It will be introduced at 2006 International CES. The DVB -T standard is applicable in Europe, Taiwan, and Australia.
The company expects to have available a similar device for the American ATSC standard when ATSC -compliant Transport Streams to be transmitted via terrestrial broadcast include the necessary embedded digital compression components in the Program and System Information Protocol is available.

The RIDATA USB DVB -T tuner receives digital terrestrial TV and radio signals; supports DVB protocol ETS 300 744; includes MPEG -II software decoding; performs real -time digital video recording and time -shifting operations; and offers full -screen display. It also includes an electronic program guide, offers a multi -channel preview, and receives teletext signals.
It supports world -wide bandwidth 6/7/8 MHz; meets a wide input frequency range from 400MHz to 860MHz; is SDTV progressive at resolution 480p (D2); and features low power consumption of less than 400mA. No manual tuning or external tunable parts are required.

With the US government mandating all television programming be digital by the end of 2006, the forthcoming RIDATA USB ATSC tuner for the American market will enable PC, laptop, and PDA users in the US to enjoy digital programming on their machines.
