Freescale extends 8 -bit microcontroller leadership to cost -sensitive applications

High level of integration redefines low end of HCS08 portfolio with combined functionality and performance

AUSTIN, Texas - Oct. 24, 2005 - Freescale Semiconductor (NYSE: FSL, FSL.B) is extending its leadership in 8 -bit microcontrollers with product families designed to provide the utmost in flexibility and value at the industry's most competitive price points. The S08QG family, with the MC9S08QG8/QG4 made available today, combined with HC08 -based microcontrollers offer a wide variety of functionality at suggested resale price points below $1 (USD), giving customers a broad range of solutions for cost -sensitive applications.
