IrrigationBrick simplifies and automates watering schedules, conserves water and saves money by putting the control at your fingertips.
Marblehead, MA - September 2005 - Homelogic, LLC introduces the new OneHome IrrigationBrick to their line of Entertainment and Home Control Solutions. The IrrigationBrick is a standalone, embedded IP (Internet Protocol) enabled controller for leading irrigation panels that provides a clear and easy -to -use interface for scheduling and controlling landscape watering. The IrrigationBrick is designed to let a homeowner and/or irrigation contractor easily set watering schedules based on plant requirements, time of year, town ordinances and/or weather patterns.
Irrigation panels that are hard to program are often left at less than optimal settings leading to improperly watered plants and grass, not to mention wasted water. The IrrigationBrick provides the homeowner access to easily -customized watering schedules from any home PC, PDA or other networked device, and can even be accessed remotely via the Internet. Internet accessibility comes in handy for the irrigation specialist looking to add a value added service to their customers and differentiate themselves from their competition. Instead of dispatching a technician to address a simple irrigation scheduling change the IrrigationBrick allows the installer to troubleshoot a customer's system remotely, thereby saving time and money, as well as providing greater value to their clients
Beyond the typical time of day and even/odd watering schedules provided on irrigation panels the IrrigationBrick adds new features such as easy to understand zone labeling ("flower bed", "Hydrangea shrubs", etc.) as well as a history view that monitors the watering times applied to a home's landscape. For more efficient programming, a "Seasonal Adjustment" is used to make modifications based on yearly weather patterns, decreasing irrigation in the spring and fall. Users can have up to 16 plant groups and 256 zones with schedules that are completely customizable running independently or in unison.
"Water is a valuable resource to homeowners who invest in landscaping," says Buddy Duncan, Co -Founder of HomeLogic. "The IrrigationBrick achieves a balance by conserving water while ensuring a beautiful and healthy property. Initial studies show between a 10% to 50% annual water savings."
The IrrigationBrick connects to compatible irrigation panels via a simple three wire, or other serial connection and is designed to run autonomously of a full -blown home automation system. By working in conjunction with industry leading irrigation panels such as Hunter, the IrrigationBrick allows irrigation contractors to continue to work with and sell the brands they are familiar with.
EdgeBrick technology is a set of solutions designed to deliver the feature -rich control capabilities of the whole -house OneHome Management and Control solution. The EdgeBrick family of imbedded controllers enables installers and builders to offer the easy -to -learn and use OneHome user interface for a single sub -system, such as irrigation, lighting and climate, at a fraction of the cost of whole -home automation.
