PI wins inaugural award for their "Silver Standard" user interface at first ever annual Crestron awards ceremony
NEW YORK, NY - Sept. 14, 2005 - Performance Imaging, a worldwide leader in advanced control system design and installations, announced today that the PI "Silver Standard" Graphical User Interface (GUI) design has won Crestron's top award for User Interface Design at this years Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association's (CEDIA) EXPO 2005. Crestron honored PI at a ceremony inaugurating Crestron's first ever awards program at the convention center in Indianapolis last week.
During the awards presentation, Crestron founder and president, George Fedelstein presented the award to PI managing partner Michael Curtin. PI received the award for the development of the "Silver Standard", a series of Touch Panel "pages" carefully designed to ensure simple operation of complex systems in an intuitive and understandable format.
"We salute Crestron for recognizing that a simple Touch Panel design is the key element for a successful installation and a happy customer." said Mr. Curtin adding "After spending a huge amount of money on the electronic systems in their home or business, our clients better be able to understand how to use it. The touch panel is where the customer goes to turn on the music, adjust the temperature, watch a movie or dim a light, if they can't navigate through that in a simple intuitive way, we have failed our client. We have seen expensive, functionally working systems ripped out only because the customer couldn't figure out how to use them."
By removing the design of touch panel pages from the "System Programmer" and placing it in the hands of professional Graphic and User Interface Designers, customers experience the promise of "Systems Integration" or the art of combining complex technology onto a simple to use Touch panel. PI's stylish design approach blends elegant intuitive icons, concisely placed text and graphics and logically organized page flow.
PI has been an industry leader pioneering simple to use, intuitive, graphical interfaces which support their world class design and installation projects. Crestron's recognition of the Silver Standard supports PI's claim to having the premier user interface experience in the country.
