Oxmoor introduces new doorbell module for ZON Audio

Oxmoor Corporation, a world leader in the development of high performance audio products, today announced the introduction of its new MP3 enabled ZON Doorbell Module as the latest enhancement to the ZON Whole House Digital Audio family. It is being shown for the first time ever at the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) Expo in Indianapolis, September 9 -11, 2005.

This new module is an economical way to add creative and unique digital audio for use as doorbells or other applications around the home. It plugs neatly into any of four ZON ZR -98 Router expansion slots and enables triggering of customer created audio for doorbells, driveway sensors, motion detectors and similar uses. Only one doorbell module is required regardless of the ZON system's size.
The module plays any one of five different audio files via five contact closures on the diminutive device. It plays MP3 files of any length from a split second to hours and uses any standard size SD memory card to store the digital audio. The length of the audio segments is only limited by the capacity of the SD card which can be changed freely as the user desires. MP3 files are copied to an SD card using a personal computer or PDA and from there, the SD card is simply inserted into the ZON Doorbell Module attached to one of the ZON ZR -98 Routers.
The ZON Doorbell Module is plug -and -play - meaning no programming whatsoever is required to play custom audio files. .
The module comes from the factory with default doorbell sounds built into the module. Those sounds do not require an SD card.
"We have many customers that have said they wanted doorbells, motion sensors, etc. to interface with their ZON systems and this module fills that need quite nicely," said Lynn McCroskey, chairman and CEO of Oxmoor Corporation. "In addition to the traditional doorbell sounds, this module allows for any audio of the user's choosing to play when triggered.
"College fight songs are an oft -mentioned choice as are holiday sounds and clips of songs by favorite artists," he added.
Pricing and a sales release date will be announced in the near future.
ZON Audio is distributed worldwide through Klipsch Audio Technologies. For more information on ZON products, visit www.zonaudio.com or www.klipsch.com.
