CineWide™ with AutoScope™ Technology Allows Home Viewers to Enjoy CinemaScope 2.35:1 Films with All Original Quality
UNION CITY, CA - August 5, 2005 - Runco International, the world leader in high -end home cinema video display technology, today announced that its CineWide™ with AutoScope™ video imaging technology was named Electronic House's 2005 "Product of the Year."The technology combines proprietary image processing and cinema -grade custom lens optics to allow, for the first time, Runco's projectors to show movies filmed in the Cinemascope 2.35:1 aspect ratio and any aspect ratio (4:3, 16:9 and 2.35:1) with constant vertical height. CineWide™ eliminates black stripes on the top and bottom of the screen while preserving every single line of resolution available from the display's chips, and the motorized AutoScope™ lens assembly allows viewers to switch to the new, extra -wide viewing mode with a single button -push.
"We are very pleased to have CineWide™ with AutoScope™ named Electronic House's 'Product of the Year,' "said Bob Hana, president of Runco International. "We designed CineWide™ with AutoScope™ to bring home viewers a larger -than -life cinema experience, and the technology is an example of why 2005 has been such a breakthrough year for Runco. We're proud of this latest achievement, and home theater enthusiasts who enjoy the consistently superior performance of our brand can continue to expect us to heighten their viewing experience with cutting -edge products."
CineWide™ with AutoScope™ was named Product of the Year by the editors of EH Publishing's four magazines based on outstanding features, reviews released throughout the year, product demos, installer feedback, technological innovation, and overall value.
Through its pairing of exclusive processing and hand -crafted lens optics, CineWide™ with AutoScope™ allows each equipped projector to take advantage of every pixel on its DMD chips, thereby producing a 2.35:1 image with enhanced resolution and increased brightness. Incoming video signals are first anamorphically "squeezed" to engage the full pixel array while preserving all original image purity. The picture is then "stretched" by the projector's custom lens to ultimately appear in the proper shape on screen. Regardless of the video source used, each projector maximizes the clarity, color saturation and contrast of all video programming. Each projector is also able to fully maintain all high -definition resolution or upgrade pictures to virtual high -definition for widescreen projection.
CineWide™ with AutoScope™ is currently available as an option for the following Runco projectors: the SC -1, VX -2c, VX -50d, and VX -40d. CineWide™ technology is available as an option for the following Runco projectors: VX -80, VX -60, VX -5000d, VX -4000d, VX -1000d.
