HUNTSVILLE, Ala., August 8, 2005 - Avocent Corporation (NASDAQ: AVCT) extends its leadership in providing connectivity solutions with the addition of IPMI Serial over LAN (SoL) functionality to its CCM console management appliances. Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) and SoL are rapidly gaining momentum as the next -generation industry standard for server and data center device management.
