Ci 3-80QT In-Ceiling Home Theater Loudspeaker Automatically Tilts to Project Lifelike Movie Audio Directly Toward the Audience
MARLBORO, NJ - July 26, 2005 - KEF, the British manufacturer of world -class home theater speakers, has added another award to its roster of accolades with the 2005 Electronic House "Product of the Year" Award. KEF was recognized with the award for its Ci 3 -80QT in -ceiling loudspeaker, which automatically adjusts its driver panel upon startup of the home theater to project sound directly at listeners. By combining this unique motorization with proprietary audio engineering, KEF has designed a speaker that adds exciting realism to the movie -viewing experience while maintaining near -invisibility in virtually any home décor.
"Receiving Electronic House's 'Product of the Year' award is an exciting accomplishment for our team, which has worked hard to redefine the concept of innovation in home theater technology," said Alec Chanin, president, KEF America. "We think the Ci 3 -80QT adds a completely new element to home entertainment, giving the décor -conscious homeowner thrilling film audio without interfering with the look of their interior. We're proud to have our efforts recognized by a respected industry voice such as Electronic House."
In addition to the advantages of its motorized tilt and ceiling -flush mount, KEF's Ci 3 -80QT produces exceptionally wide sound dispersion through its patented Uni -Q® driver array. Uni -Q® is based on over 45 years of audio engineering and uses technologies implemented by NASA. The driver places an aluminum dome tweeter in the acoustic center of a mid -bass cone, resulting in a near -perfect, single -point -source driver. This configuration ensures the frequency ranges of both drivers are delivered in -phase and in precise focus, providing the wide dispersion that ensures optimal sound quality to all listeners throughout the room, including those outside of the typical "sweet spot."
The Ci 3 -80QT was selected by the editors of EH Publishing's four magazines based on reviews released throughout the year, product demos, installer feedback, innovative features, and overall value.
