Helps Mobile Professionals Stay Organized, Protected, and Connected

WEST KINGSTON, R.I. - May 12, 2005 - American Power Conversion (Nasdaq: APCC) (APC) today announced four new stylish Power Ready Notebook Cases that support the needs of today's mobile professionals. Road warriors all over the world depend on their phones, PDAs, and laptops to remain productive while traveling. APC's new Power Ready Notebook Cases not only protect and organize these devices, they help make being productive easier. APC's Universal Notebook Battery and Universal Power Adapter (both sold separately) also easily integrate with the case to power and charge mobile equipment anywhere, anytime without having to take anything out of the case.


"APC's designers and engineers developed the new notebook cases from the ground up with the unique needs of mobile professionals in mind," said Joe Loberti, general manager of APC's Consumer Network Group. "Unlike most other cases on the market today, we placed a lot of attention on protecting electronics and organizing the pocket layout so that it is effortless to access devices. For example, we designed a unique new universal notebook compartment that makes it easy to quickly pullout and replace a laptop at places like airport security checkpoints."

All of the Power Ready Notebook Cases include mobile device pockets, an easy access organizer panel to keep important belongings like pens and business cards in reach, a removable spill -proof pouch for personal belongings, a cord port that allows an adapter to easily charge a notebook computer while secured in its padded compartment, and a removable shock absorbing strap that provides maximum comfort with extreme loads. While the 900 cubic inch, ultra -light case uses lightweight nylon material, all the other cases use heavy -duty ballistic nylon material. The 900, 1000, and the 1400 cubic -inch cases also offer a roller handle slot that allows for quick and secure attachment to most wheeled upright luggage. The 1000, 1400, and 1900 cases provide utility side pockets that expand to hold water bottles or umbrellas. The 1000 and 1400 models have a unique universal notebook compartment with padded panels that adjust to securely fit notebook computers with 15.4 inch screens or smaller, and some 17 inch widescreen models as well. The 1400 cu -in model and Roller Case have a file compartment for folders, documents, or magazines. Additionally, in place of the universal notebook compartment, the Roller Case has a lightweight removable notebook pouch to safely carry a notebook computer without having to carry the entire Roller Case. It has durable in -line skate wheels, and a telescoping locking handle.

The new APC Power Ready Notebook Cases are currently available in North America and all have a lifetime warranty. They carry an estimated resale price of $39.99 (900 cu -in), $49.99 (1000 cu -in), $59.99 (1400 cu -in) and $99.99 (roller case). APC's Universal Power Adapter and Universal Notebook Battery are also available in North America and carry an estimated resale price of $79.99 and $249.99, respectively.
