ICIA Announces Optoma Home Theater Coming to InfoComm 05 Residential Systems Integration Pavilion

InfoComm is the largest conference and exhibition for the professional audiovisual and information communications industry.

FAIRFAX, VA. April 28, 2005 The International Communications Industries Association, Inc.® (ICIA®) announced today that Optoma Technology, Inc. will construct a home theater at InfoComm 05 as sponsor of the Show's first Residential Systems Pavilion. Optoma's screening room, complete with Optoma's high performance H79 digital projector, Stewart screen and Tempur -Pedic theater chairs, addresses the increasingly sophisticated residential market that is growing worldwide. InfoComm is the largest conference and exhibition for the professional audiovisual and information communications industry. It takes place in the Las Vegas Convention Center, June 4 -10, 2005.

"AV professionals in both North America and Europe are upbeat about the potential for significant growth in the residential market," said Randal A. Lemke, Ph.D, Executive Director of ICIA. "The new focus on residential systems at InfoComm 05 reflects this trend."

The Optoma H79 offers 4500:1 contrast ratio and native 720p resolution, providing a vivid and immersive digital video experience. According to Optoma's Product Engineering Manager Wing Chung, "Optoma's incredible level of digital performance dramatically escalates the video and cinematography detail, rivaling the experience in the best movie theaters. The H79 delivers a wider and smoother color palette with virtually no dithering in the lower end of the gray scale as well as providing a rich brightness to win over even the most discerning of home theater aficionados."

The debut of the Residential Systems Pavilion at InfoComm 05 reflects a strong demand for AV systems. According to ICIA's 2005 Market Forecast, nearly 25 percent of AV dealers in the U.S. currently serve the residential market, while 30 percent of AV dealers in Europe are involved in the residential market. The residential market consists of home theater systems, high -definition displays, residential audio, lighting, electronics and security systems, satellite equipment and home automation systems - all featured in the Residential Systems Pavilion.

In addition to new residential systems exhibit space, ICIA is offering for the first time with the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) a residential education program for professional audiovisual systems integrators, dealers, VARs and design consultants to learn about custom residential systems and applications. An added feature of InfoComm is the AVolution NextGen Home, a demonstration of the home of the future using cutting -edge technologies from advanced electronics to super -strong energy efficient building materials.
