Runco International Celebrated Success in the Sun at Annual 2005 Mexico Getaway

Runco's Honored Tradition Brought Together Dealers, Reps, Press, and Runco Staff to Develop Strategies, Experience New Products, And Relax On the Sand

UNION CITY, CA - April 13, 2005 - Runco International's guests gathered with Runco staff in Cabo San Lucas for the company's Annual Mexico Getaway. The event brings together Runco's extended business family -and actual family members -in a laid -back environment to celebrate the defining achievements of 2004 and plan for success in 2005. This was the tenth year for the six -day Getaway, which aims to mix business with pleasure and great family fun in one of the most anticipated events among Runco's family and associates.

"The Mexico Getaway lets everyone relax and have fun while taking care of business," said Sam Runco, the company's founder and CEO. "It's good for all of us to get together outside of our usual setting to look at what strategies are working for everyone, and focus on common goals for the future. I'm very proud of establishing the Getaway, and returning to it each year is one of the best ways I can think of to reward ourselves for the hard work we put in all year long."

The theme at this year's Getaway was "Raising the Bar," and it showed in everything from new product demonstrations to roundtable discussions and press meetings. Bob Hana, president of Runco, expressed the company's aim to 'listen more and talk less,' when it pertains to bringing dealer relationships to the next level: "Our dealers are often first to experience many of the changes in the custom home theater market, so it's critical that we absorb their input and use it to strengthen our support of their work." He continued, "2004 was a record year, and programs like our new Runco Academy training have generated lots of terrific feedback from our dealers. The atmosphere at the Runco Mexico Getaway lets us focus on the tools that help us all work better together, and at the same time allows us to enjoy quality time with family and friends."

Everyone who came to the Runco Mexican Getaway was encouraged to bring their families. Activities over the week included the "Famous" Talent Show, Runco Golf Tournament, Movie Night by the Pool, Beach Potato Sack Race, Egg -Toss, and the highly anticipated Belly flop Contest. Each let participants rekindle some long -standing friendly rivalries, and opened the door for new ones to be born.

On the final night of the Getaway, Runco held a Gala Award Dinner to honor the performance of its top sellers over 2004. Awards were given out for the following firms and categories:
