Silicon Optix's Realta HQV Chip Wins Silver Best of CES Award

Silicon Optix's Realta chip with Hollywood Quality Video (HQV) has been honored with a "Silver Best of CES 2005" award for Electronics and Algorithms from Kahn International's Private Line Report.

San Jose, Calif. (Mar. 1, 2005) -Silicon Optix's Realta chip with Hollywood Quality Video (HQV) has been honored with a "Silver Best of CES 2005" award for Electronics and Algorithms from Kahn International's Private Line Report.


"Since its launch in September, the Realta chip has received lots of praise and recognition as the new high end of video processing, but the fact that Realta is now in a shipping product, Denon's 5910 DVD player, makes it real, and is the reason we gave them this award," said Fred Kahn, editor of Private Line Report.

Realta originates from Teranex's $60,000 broadcast and postproduction platforms. Teranex's software algorithms run on Realta's fully programmable, trillion -operations -per -second video processing engine to deliver a new standard in image quality, a standard Silicon Optix is calling Hollywood Quality Video, or HQV.

The Realta HQV processor has already won seven awards, including the CES 2005 "Best of Innovations" award for the Embedded Technologies category, "Most Promising New Technology" and "Most Exciting New Company" from The Perfect Vision, "Best Buzz" of CEDIA from Insight Media, AVGuide Monthly's "Best Product Overall," Red Herring's "Top 100 Innovators" award, and now, Fred Kahn's "Silver Best of CES" award.
