Developed with the professional audio specialist in mind, the MonoPro XLR adapts a single AES/EBU balanced analog or digital audio signal to Category 5 copper twisted pair cable in a point -to -point configuration for neater and more efficient cabling.

In the pro -analog audio environment, the MonoPro XLR supports distances up to 5,000 ft and has a bandwidth of 20 to 20 KHz. The product supports line audio as well as passive and phantom powered microphones for increased versatility in a wide range of applications, including rental, staging, public address systems and other installations where the use of pre -existing Cat5 is desirable or required.

In the pro -digital audio environment, the product supports distances up to 1,400 ft depending on sampling rate, thereby exceeding the performance of traditional pro -audio cable.

The product incorporates several added features that enhance its robustness and user -friendliness when used with Cat5 cabling. For example, the Category 5 cable is terminated on screw terminals that are easily accessible inside the balun and also protect against dust and moisture. Furthermore, the product features a secure cable strain relief mechanism that firmly grips the Cat5 cable jacket for added security and peace of mind. Finally, the product comes standard with a locking XLR -3 plug or receptacle depending on the model.
