SHOWSHIFTER GOES DOWN A STORM AT CES

Home Media Networks` ShowShifter, Generates A Buzz At The Consumer Electronics Show In Las Vegas

Home Media Networks Ltd, the leading developer of media center software, has gained popular interest at the world's biggest technology event this week at the annual Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas where its ShowShifter software is being displayed.

The CES arena highlights all the latest technologies and gadgets for 2005. This year's show is focusing on technologies that put people in charge of their multimedia needs. ShowShifter's capabilities enable consumers to store, listen and watch the media they want, when they want it, in line with the outlook of home entertainment in 2005.

Jeff Joseph from the Consumer Electronics Association said that at the show "[we] will really begin to see what we call place shifting come to life - so if you have your PVR in your living room, you can move that content around the house." ShowShifter technology enables you to do that and more. "The products which will be making waves in the next year will be about the 'democratisation' of content - devices and technologies that will give people the freedom to do more with music, video and images," explained Joseph.

Now boasting over 700,000 users worldwide, ShowShifter allows users to watch, record and time -shift (pause) TV, play DVDs, CDs and MP3 music files all through one interface. The ability to control ShowShifter with a remote control and its unique Farview interface enables the consumer to use the product from anywhere in the room with a simple, unified interface for all home entertainment components (DVR, DVD, CD, etc), as with conventional home entertainment products.

"It is encouraging that ShowShifter is receiving yet more positive feedback and being recognised at CES as an enabling technology to move content around the house," explained Home Media Networks CEO John Croft. "It also demonstrates how fitting our software is going to be in 2005 where digital storing and wireless connectivity is to play such a key role in home entertainment."
