Boston Acoustics Exhibits Versatile, Easy -to -Use Volume Controls, Speaker Selectors and Control Hub

Matched Accessories Offer New Solutions for Custom Audio Installations - Smooth, Clean Performance and The Boston Sound™, Natural and Undistorted

CES 2005, LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6, 2005 - Boston Acoustics, Inc. (NASDAQ: BOSA), a premier manufacturer of high -performance audio solutions for use in home music and audio -video systems, after -market and OEM automotive systems, and custom built -in audio systems, showcases a group of versatile, easy -to -use Volume Controls and Speaker Selectors at the International Consumer Electronics Show, beginning today in Las Vegas.

The new RVC90i and SVC90i Volume Controls and SP4 and SP6 Speaker Selectors are valuable, flexible additions to Boston Acoustics' broad line of custom accessories, all of which provide practical solutions for delivering its acclaimed audio signature - The Boston Sound™. Also showcased is the CB8 Volume Control Hub, which can connect the amplifier and up to eight volume controls.

The RVC90i, which uses a rotary knob to adjust volume, and the SVC90i, which uses an up -and -down slider, are in -wall controls designed for local volume attenuation in multi -room systems. They offer a safe, simple, easy way to expand a receiver or amplifier, and are perfectly matched with Boston Acoustics speakers, and its SP4 and SP6 Speaker Selectors.. They deliver independent volume control in each room in which either version is placed to each pair of speakers, along with clean, smooth volume attenuation without clicking or popping, or affecting sound quality.

Both controls are capable of handling 90 Watts per channel RMS, and a peak load of 200 Watts. They feature selectable impedance magnifying, 12 -step control, with 54dB maximum attenuation, autoformer -based impedance matching, and impedance levels that are easily adjusted while the controls are installed.

The controls can be installed neatly and easily, and adapted to the esthetic of any setting through interchangeable knobs and plate kits available in five popular colors - White, Almond, Ivory, Brown and Black.

The SP4 4 -Position Speaker Selector and the SP6 6 -Position Speaker Selector allow any amplifier or receiver to be safely connected to additional speakers without risking amplifier damage. They're ideal for connecting up to four pairs of 4 - to 8 -Ohm speakers to a 4 -Ohm stereo receiver or amplifier, and can be used with the RVC90i and SVS90i Volume Controls for greater flexibility. Both selectors are small, compact, and compatible with all amplifiers. They handle 200 Watts/channel, and 100 Watts/channel RMS at continuous operation.

Resistor -based, both are easy to operate and feature automatic impedance matching and protection, amplifier protection, on/off selection, detachable speaker connectors that accommodate 12 AWG wire, a custom labeling kit with printed and blank labels, and affordable prices.

The compact C88 Volume Control Hub allows up to 8 pairs of remote speakers to be simply and clearly connected in parallel, and must be used with impedance matching volume controls, such as the RVC90i and SVC90i. Its detachable connectors can be used with 12 -gauge wire.

The RVC90i and SVC90i Volume Controls, SP4 and SP6 Speaker Selectors, and CB8 Control Hub are available now from authorized Boston Acoustics dealers. They can be seen with Boston Acoustics' other outstanding home and custom products at The Renaissance Hotel, Suite 539. Boston products can also be seen at The Boston Sound™ Experience, North Plaza, near the North Hall parking lot, and at Booth 1427, Las Vegas Convention Center, North Hall, during CES.
