OpenPeak Announces World's First Z -Wave/WiFi/IR Bridge

THINKING HOMES SOFTWARE NOW CONTROLS ANY ZENSYS Z-WAVE ENABLED DEVICES

BOCA RATON, FLORIDA AND LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - January 06, 2005 - OpenPeak Inc., a leading provider of software enabling control of digital content, consumer electronics and systems in the Digital Home, today announced its Z -Wave/WiFi/IR Bridge designed to enable the company's flagship Thinking Homes software to control Z -Wave enabled devices.


Zensys Z -Wave is an RF -based, two -way mesh networking protocol for wireless control of home devices, such as lights, HVAC and security systems.

"Our current and future original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners can now immediately offer control of Z -Wave networked devices via this new Z -Wave/WiFi/IR bridge device and our existing Thinking Homes control software," said Andrew Lona, OpenPeak's Chief Marketing Officer.

Interoperability across all elements - networks, protocols, devices, and digital content - in the Digital Home has been a consistent goal at OpenPeak. With the just -announced Z -Wave/WiFi/IR Bridge from OpenPeak and the company's Thinking Homes control software, consumers will be able to control devices from a wide range of manufacturers that presently use Z -Wave technology, including Sylvania, Leviton and Carrier.

"Offering the Z -Wave/WiFi/IR bridge device to OEMs as a hardware reference design is yet another way to help ensure convenience and simplicity to consumers as they begin to create their own Digital Homes," Lona added. OpenPeak already offers hardware reference designs for WiFi to IR and WiFi to Serial bridge devices, as well as for controller devices.
