Loudspeakers are plagued by their enclosure as the sound waves are compressed into an unorderly maze of internal standing waves. ETL provides an orderly standing wave pattern within the enclosure which nullifies the mass by providing an orderly standing wave pattern that drives the cone as a piston over its entire surface.

Subwoofers of current design rely on a driver with high mass to create a low resonance. This second resonant system is not in sync with the main system which has its` own resonance frequency. This situation with two resonances is such that there can never be a coherent pattern of vibration. ETL avoids this issue by using an Embedded Transmission Line to delay the low waves and return them as mass for the sub driver. This signal is common to both systema and results in a coherent wavefront.
