ARCHI-TECH Magazine, Rental & Staging Systems and Systems Contractor News Again Sponsor AV Industry Awards
FAIRFAX, Va., Dec. 8, 2004 - - The International Communications Industries Association, Inc.® (ICIA®) is again co -sponsoring the AV industry's top award programs - - the ARCHI -TECH Awards, the Rental & Staging Systems Awards and the Systems Contractor News Installation Product Awards - at InfoComm 05 during June 8 -10, 2005, in Las Vegas.
Winners of the awards will be revealed at the AV Communications Excellence Awards Banquet, a high -profile event at InfoComm where information communications and audiovisual professionals celebrate the success of leaders and pioneers in the industry. In addition to the co -sponsored awards, ICIA will also announce during the Banquet winners of its annual Distinguished Achievement Award, Educator of the Year Award, and Volunteer of the Year Award
2005 ARCHI -TECH AV Awards
ARCHI -TECH magazine, sponsor of the third annual 2005 ARCHI -TECH AV Awards competition, is soliciting submissions from teams of systems integrators, design consultants and architects for projects completed between Jan. 1, 2003, and March 1, 2005. The ARCHI -TECH AV Awards are designed to honor outstanding examples of the creative and effective integration of technology into otherwise traditional construction projects. The awards are divided in two budget categories: under $1 million and over $1 million. Each entry will be judged by a qualified panel of architects, AV consultants and systems integrators.
Last year, the Queen Mary 2 cruise ship sailed to victory as Best Overall Award winner. The design and integration featured a 500 -seat multipurpose auditorium and an integrated 150 -seat planetarium. Kudos went to designers Nautilus Entertainment Design, Inc. and The Design Team Ltd., and integrators HMS s.a., Paris and Sky -Skan Incorporated.

2005 Rental & Staging Systems Awards
Rental & Staging Systems, sponsor of the 2005 Rental & Staging Systems Awards, is recognizing excellence in the design and production of AV in staged events including corporate/association (large and small) and entertainment events held between Jan. 1, 2004, and Dec. 31, 2004. Winners will be selected by an independent panel of judges including members of ICIA's Rental and Staging Council and the editorial staff of Rental & Staging Systems magazine. The Rental & Staging Systems Awards will also feature awards for the best new products for the rental and staging market, decided on the basis of a readers' poll conducted by the magazine.
Accolades in 2004 went to Duocom for staging the 14th World Congress of the World Federation of the Deaf and Show Department, Inc. for Walgreens Manager's Meeting, each taking the prize for the 2004 Best Overall Staging for a Corporate or Association Event, Large Venue. Meanwhile, the 2004 Best Product Awards went to Eastern Acoustic Works' SLAM KF730 for the Best Loudspeaker, DiGiCo's D5 Live FM for the Best Audio/Mixing Product and many other noteworthy companies for their exciting products.

Systems Contractor News, sponsor of the 2005 Systems Contractor News Installation Product Awards, will acknowledge excellence in product design for the AV installation market. Categories include Best Audio/Loudspeaker, Best DSP Product, Best Video Projection Product, Best Control Product and more. A blue -ribbon panel of industry experts will determine the list of finalists, and readers of the magazine will decide the winners in a readers' poll.
