Fremont, CA - - December 1, 2004 - BiTMICRO® Networks, a pioneer in intelligent IDE/ATA, SCSI, USB, VME, PMC, CompactPCI, FireWire, Ethernet and Fibre Channel flash solid state storage solutions, today announced a new line of E -Disk® VME SCSI Wide flash solid state drive plug -in modules featuring the E -Disk® 3S320 - the world's first Ultra320 SCSI -based flash solid state disk.

BiTMICRO's E -Disk® VME U320 SCSI Wide flash disk drives are now available in both conduction and convection -cooled versions. Designed as a 6U double slot plug -in module, the current convection -cooled E -Disk® VME module can hold up storage capacities ranging from 1024MB to 53.2GB.

On the other hand, the conduction -cooled E -Disk® VME U320 SCSI plug -in flash disk module comes in a single disk configuration that can occupy up to three slots for a maximum capacity of 155.36GB.

The heart and soul of the E -Disk® VME U320 SCSI Wide Series is the 3S320 flash disk. This OS -independent, pure solid state/non -volatile E -Disk SSD features up to 42 µsec access time and a maximum I/O of 12,500/sec. Sustained R/W rate is 68 MB/sec (max) and burst R/W rate is 320 MB/sec (max). It can handle operating shock of up to 1500 Gs and extreme temperatures from -40 to +85°C. Product design targets an MTBF of 1 million hours.

The E -Disk® VME SCSI Wide Series of plug -in flash disk drive modules are completely bootable, do not require any special device drivers, and are fully -compliant with the remanence security requirements of the U.S. Department of Defense, Navy, Army and Air Force with its patented securErase® and PowerGuard®.
