ICIA®/InfoComm Launches Anytime/Anywhere Web -Based Video Training

InfoComm Academy® Captures Live Presentations to Deliver OnDemand

FAIRFAX, Va., November 22, 2004 - The International Communications Industries Association, Inc.® (ICIA®) is pleased to announce that InfoComm Academy® is introducing a new way to learn - OnDemand. OnDemand is a dynamic offering of rich -media presentations, focusing on AV technologies, technical procedures and business practices such as projector basics, LCD monitor and plasma technology comparisons, and correctly configuring a mix -minus audio system. To introduce the program, the association is currently offering one OnDemand course at no charge.

Sponsored by Sonic Foundry, Inc.®, InfoComm Academy OnDemand captures curriculum materials typically taught during onsite seminars, brings those presentations to the Web and makes high -quality training available to a greater number of students.

"It's no secret that the anywhere/anytime convenience of online training is changing people's learning styles and preferences," said Randal A. Lemke, Ph.D., Executive Director of ICIA. "By capturing our professional training and conference presentations using Mediasite™ Live, our members can access the knowledge shared through these sessions with full audio, video and instructional content."

InfoComm 2004 provided one of the first opportunities for the InfoComm Academy to gather significant content for its new online education and training program. With so many volunteer experts dedicated to industry education, the initial offerings of OnDemand learning cover a wide range of topics varying in length and difficulty level. At the program's introduction, OnDemand will offer three to four presentations at a time, periodically swapping these for others from the master library. The introductory library includes:

Advanced Projector Display Technologies
How to Size a Projection Screen
Microphone Basics

Students of OnDemand learning earn credit toward their ICIA certification (CTS) renewal.

OnDemand presentations are open to anyone at a nominal charge and are discounted to ICIA members. The cost of each course is $25 for ICIA members (EduBucks can apply); $40 for non -members.

One OnDemand course is being offered at no charge - MasterFormat 04 and How It Will Affect the AV Industry, a 22 minute presentation giving the history of MasterFormat and contrasting the organization of MasterFormat 95 and 04. Although free, registration is required.
