Smarthome to Offer Salton's Networked Appliances to Catalog and Online Store Customers
IRVINE, Calif., Nov. 9, 2004 - Smarthome, Inc., the world's leading provider of automated products to improve the home, today announced a distribution agreement with Salton, Inc. to offer its entire Beyond™ Connected Home product line to customers of Smarthome's print catalogs and online store.
The Salton Beyond product line consists of "smart" appliances and products primarily focused in the kitchen that simplify and enhance everyday tasks and make them part of a networked home. The initial products to be carried by Smarthome include:
iCEBOX -A12 -inch LCD monitor that mounts under the kitchen cabinet to provide broadband Internet access, television, DVD and CD player, FM radio and home video monitoring capabilities. Bread Maker -Consumers can scan the barcode on the breadbox and the Bread Maker does the rest. The Bread Maker stores hundreds of pre -programmed barcodes, and ensures each recipe turns out correctly. The Bread Maker automatically "learns" new barcodes from the online Beyond Information Network. Price: $139.99
Microwave -This microwave provides an easy way to cook meals perfectly and evenly every time. Consumers simply scan the barcode on the food package and since the microwave has 4,000 barcodes stored in its memory, it will cook meals according to the directions, eliminating the need to select cook time or power level. Price: $149.99
Additional Beyond products will be added to the Smarthome Web site as they are introduced.
