BELDEN CDT ELECTRONICS DIVISION CONTINUES EXPANSION OF HOMECHOICE® BANANA PEEL® COMPOSITE CABLE LINE TO MEET GROWING RESIDENTIAL MARKET NEEDS
RICHMOND, IN - Belden CDT Electronics Division, a world leader in the development of specialty cable products for the commercial, industrial, broadcast and residential markets, continues to expand its line of HomeChoice Banana Peel Composite cables to meet growing residential market needs. Now Belden introduces its new HomeChoice Banana Peel Composite cable (Product No. 7956S), a 1 x 2 construction consisting of one 4 -pair Category 5e UTP cable for data, plus two Series 6 Quad Shielded coaxial cables for video.
The new 1 x 2 addition rounds out Belden's existing line of HomeChoice Banana Peel Composite cables, which includes 2 x 2 configurations (two data cables, two coaxes) and a 2 x 2 x 2 construction (two data cables, two coaxes and two fiber optic cables). HomeChoice structured cabling system cables are ideal to support a wide array of home automation, networking, security and entertainment applications in today`s Intelligent Home.
Banana Peel Cables Provide Faster, Easier Installation
The new 1 x 2 cable features Belden's Banana Peel design, a unique jacketless construction with the individual data and coax cables affixed to a center spline. Banana Peel Composite cables have become a popular choice among residential installers and system integrators because there is no overall jacket to strip away, making them easier and faster to install than traditional composite cables. Multiple cables can be installed in a single pull. The smaller OD improves the cable`s overall bend radius for easier installation in tight spaces. In addition, the patented center -spline design of HomeChoice Banana Peel Composite cables offers instant identification and easier termination of each individual data, coax and fiber cable component.
The new 1 x 2 HomeChoice Banana Peel Composite cable consists of one UL -verified Cat 5e 4 -pair UTP for data, plus two Series 6 Quad Shielded video coaxes. The UTP cable features 24 AWG solid bare copper conductors and includes a polyolefin insulation. The Series 6 coaxes have solid bare copper conductors and Duobond® IV Quad Shields, which is a foil/braid/foil/braid design that ensures excellent shielding integrity for the highest video quality.
The composite cable is rated CMR/C(UL) CMG FT 4 and is available on 500 -ft. and 1000 -ft. reels.
Belden CDT Electronics Division offers a comprehensive line of HomeChoice cables - including single application cables for voice, audio/video, data and multimedia, and over 20 different composite cable constructions that combine fiber optic, UTP, coaxial, paired and multi -conductor cables.
