New High -Efficiency M 1200.2, M 700.2 and M 300.2 Power Amplifiers Combine High Performance with a Range of Power Options

CEDIA EXPO, Indianapolis, September 10, 2004 - Carver®, a division of Phoenix Gold International, Inc., previews its new M 1200.2, M 700.2 and M 300.2 Power Amplifiers at the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) Expo 2004, beginning today in Indianapolis.

The new two -channel amplifiers are ideal for use in Audio and Home Theater systems, where multiple units can easily be installed, and also in distributed whole -house or multiple -zone audio systems. They are all powerful, solidly constructed, and built for quality and reliability.

Power handling capabilities vary from 300 watts per channel in the M 1200.2 to 95 watts per channel in the M 300.2, offering users a wide range of applications. The amplifiers can also be matched as needed, as they share numerous key features. These include high -efficiency spread spectrum switching amplifier technology utilizing TriPath®, which is designed to minimize the noise commonly associated with switching amplifier stages; a high current linear power supply with a Holmgren -designed torroidal transformer, which is an efficient, high -power design that minimizes hum and reduces magnetic leakage; and convection cooling, and a rear panel switch for bridged and parallel mono.

The amplifiers' LED displays include seven segments per channel and a standby indicator. Connections for each model include 3.5mm input/output jacks for a 12 -volt trigger or signal sensing auto -on, supporting power sequencing circuitry, XLR (balanced) and RCA (Unbalanced) inputs, and multi -way speaker outputs.

On the power side, the M 1200.2 Amplifier delivers 300 watts per channel into 8 ohms, and 600 watts per channel into 4 ohms, each with less than 0.5percent THD; and 1200 watts bridged mono into 8 ohms, with less than 1percent THD.

The M 700.2 Amplifier delivers 225 watts per channel into 8 ohms, and 350 watts per channel into 4 ohms, 20 Hz to 20 kHz, each with less than 0.5 percent THD; and 700 watts bridged mono into 8 ohms, with less than 1 percent THD.

The M 300.2 Amplifier delivers 95 watts per channel into 8 ohms, and 150 watts per channel into 4 ohms, 20 Hz to 20 kHz, each with less than 0.5 percent THD; and 300 watts bridged mono into 8 ohms, with less than 0.5 percent THD.
