Boston Acoustics Introduces P4 Series Speakers,
Uniquely Designed for Flat -Panel Home Theaters

Stylish New Speaker Family Brings The Boston Sound™ to Advanced A/V Systems with Unrivalled Excellence, Flexibility, Integrity and Power

CEDIA EXPO, Indianapolis, Sept. 10, 2004 - Boston Acoustics, Inc. (NASDAQ: BOSA), a premier manufacturer of high -performance audio solutions for home entertainment, automobiles and personal desktop audio systems, introduces the P4 High Performance Theater Speakers at the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) Expo 2004, beginning today in Indianapolis.

P4 Series Speakers are designed to deliver powerful, impressive audio in slim, sleek, compact chassis designed to perfectly complement plasma and LCD televisions and monitor, DLP rear -projection consoles, and traditional screens.

The series includes five loudspeakers - the P460, the P450, the P442, the P430; and the flagship P400 High Performance Slim Theater Speaker, a unique three -channels -in -one solution that ushers in the next generation of Home Theater sound.

P4 Speaker Power
All P4 Series Speakers powerfully deliver The Boston Sound™, an acclaimed feature of Boston Acoustics speaker systems that reproduces music and movie sound with exceptional accuracy. The Boston Sound recreates music and sound effects as artists intend with a pure neutral tonal consistency that remains the same for all Boston Acoustics speakers, including P4 Series models, no matter how many or how variously they are mounted.

With the exception of the P400 (see separate release), each P4 model is designed as a single -channel speaker sized to match the vertical dimension of an appropriate display screen. Thus, the P460 Speaker is best suited for screen sizes approximately 60 -inches and larger diagonally, the P450 Speaker for displays roughly 50 -inches and larger, the P442 Speaker for displays 42 -inches and larger, and the P430 Speaker for screen sizes 26 -inches and larger.

The P460, P450 and P442 Speakers feature multiple 4 -1?2 -inch woofers for deep, authoritative bass response, low distortion, and smooth uniform upper bass/lower midrange frequency response. They also employ a 4 -1?2 -inch midrange driver with a large 1 -1?2 -inch voice coil for superb driver control and extremely high power handling. All three speakers also feature Boston Acoustics' high output 1 -inch anodized aluminum VRH.O.™ tweeter. The P430 features one 4 -1?2 -inch woofer, one 4 -1?2 -inch midrange driver, and a 1 -inch VR® aluminum -dome tweeter.

All P4 Speaker cabinets are constructed from extruded aluminum for superb structural integrity that eliminates the spurious resonances and vibration that degrade the sound of ordinary speakers. All P4 Speakers also feature MagnaGuard® magnetic shielding, ensuring the speakers' magnetic fields will never interfere with any television's picture, allowing their placement directly next to a TV or monitor in a Home Theater system.

P4 Dealer Power
The value of the P4 Series goes beyond its incredible acoustic performance and stylish esthetic. For dealers and installation professionals, the P4 series has been designed to maximize return and deliver the maximum number of solutions for customers with the minimum investment in inventory.

Every P4 Speaker, for example, is designed to be used as a left -, center, or right -channel speaker, eliminating the need to stock a matching center channel model. Every P4 Speaker also ships with both black and silver grilles, enabling one speaker unit to serve, for inventory purposes, as a left, right and matching center speaker in both available colors.

P4 Mounting Power
Each P4 Speaker also comes supplied with a rugged wall -mounting bracket that makes it easy to position the speaker vertically or horizontally.

Additional mounting options include the elegant P4TS Table Mount and stylish P4FL Floor Mount, both available separately. The Table Mount is ideal for placing speakers on credenzas or cabinets next to DLP and Plasma displays. The cast -aluminum Floor Mount transforms the compact P4 models into stately, next -generation floor -standing speakers. The stand adjusts to a top height of 57 inches, perfectly complementing today's largest LCD - and DLP -based televisions and monitors.

Suggested prices for the P4 Series are $1,000 each for the P460 Speaker, $800 each for the P450 Speaker, $600 each for the P442 Speaker, and $400 each for the P430 Speaker. Suggested prices for the optional mounts are $80 each for the P4TS Table Mount, and $160 each for the P4TS Floor Mount.

P4 Series Speakers will be available in September from authorized Boston Acoustics dealers. They can be seen with Boston Acoustics' other outstanding products in Booth 630, Indiana Convention Center, during CEDIA EXPO.
