Home Media Networks` Entertainment Software To Demonstrate Duel TV Viewing With Chip Manufacturer Micronas

Home Media Networks Ltd, developer of network -capable home entertainment software, announced that its ShowShifter software is to be demonstrated with chip manufacturer Micronas at the San Francisco Intel Developer Forum from today. Micronas' NgeneTM chip supports a new wave of dual tuner cards set to turn current TV viewing on its head. Such cards provide two separate tuners and can access any combination of analogue, digital and HDTV input signals.

Having a dual tuner card enables the viewer to record one channel while watching another, record two channels at once, or even view two different channels concurrently with 'Picture in Picture' support. In some countries, certain channels are broadcast only in digital or analogue. Using the Micronas chips plus ShowShifter provides access to all of these channels through one convenient interface.

ShowShifter allows users to watch, record and time -shift (pause) TV, play DVDs, CDs and MP3 music files all through one interface. The ability to control ShowShifter with a remote control and its unique Farview interface enables the consumer to use the product from anywhere in the room with a simple, unified interface for all home entertainment components (DVR, DVD, CD, etc. players), as with conventional home entertainment products.
