Booth #302 to Showcase Several New Technologies on the Horizon Including XM Satellite Radio -Enabled Audio Products, VIA!® Touch Panels in a Small Form Factor and Wireless Models, and Entry Level VIA!®dj Music Server
INDIANAPOLIS, IN - - CEDIA BOOTH #302 - - ELAN™ Home Systems, a leading manufacturer of award -winning distributed audio/video and home automation systems, announced today that the company will present preview demos of several significant new technologies slated to drive some of the many ELAN 2005 and 2006 product introductions in its booth at the 2004 CEDIA Expo. The announcement was made by Bob Farinelli, ELAN's President and Chief Technology Officer.
As follow up to the company's recent announcement that it entered into a product development agreement with XM Satellite Radio, America's number one satellite radio service provider, ELAN will showcase its upcoming XM3 Triple output XM -Enabled Satellite Radio Receiver Technology. This product will expand the ELAN multi -zone listening source product category, now including Dual Tuners and Quad Digital Music Servers.
According to Mr. Farinelli, "During CEDIA, we will preview some of our proprietary technologies currently under development for our family of Dealers in order to get their first -hand feedback early in our development process. We can then confidently move forward with their invaluable input front of mind. The XM Satellite concept that will be shown, will permit up to three independent XM Satellite Radio streams to come from one box - allowing three listeners to get whatever programming they desire in the individual rooms they want within the home. It`s all about giving the user the most variety and most flexible listening environment. Offering a great amount of content and easy access to it throughout the home is key to giving users the most pleasurable home listening experience."
Additionally, the company will preview new VIA! Touch Panel / interfaces in several sizes including the VIA!40 4 -Inch In -Wall Touch Panel and VIA!2 -10.4, wireless 10.4 inch Touch Panel. ELAN's plans to introduce smaller and larger screen VIA! technology driven touch panel products illustrates the company's commitment to addressing a broader range of Dealers' and Clients' interface needs and budgets. These models will have seamless compatibility with VIA!TOOLS, which makes implementing ELAN touch panel solutions the easiest in the business for Dealers.
Featuring a 4 -inch color LCD Touch Panel, the new VIA!40 will deliver quality VIA! performance in a small in -wall package format at an affordable price point that will allow customers the opportunity to install units in virtually every room throughout the house that, just like with VIA!, will enable them to view live video sources and take control of whole -house A/V systems, lights, and automation. On the other end of the coin, the VIA! -10.4 technology offers the ultimate in touch panel usability with a larger display, full web browsing capability, and wireless mobility. The VIA!2 will be packaged with ELAN's new System Station to provide the ideal Home Theater Controller system for an affordable price. This demonstration clearly illustrates how VIA! technology can be applied in a larger model format for main rooms or for customers who simply desire or require a bigger panel.
According to Paul Starkey, ELAN's Executive Vice President, "The 2005 introduction of these two new models coupled with ELAN's original 6.4 model is in keeping with our mission to create and deliver a range of product options that satisfy all customers - whether they are looking for the good, better, or best solution. These offerings will be unmatched in the industry for price and performance, and we are looking forward to the next year with several major product rollouts"
Lastly, ELAN will introduce its 2005 VIA!dj -S Single Output Digital Music Server. This new product will be an entry level music server that addresses the needs of customers who want all the great benefits and features of the current, award -winning VIA!dj but only require one music stream at a time. A lower cost alternative, the VIA!dj -S will be compatible with the same ELAN products and interfaces as the current model.
In regard to the VIA!dj -S Mr. Farinelli stated, "The VIA!dj -S will provide easy viewing and immediate access to large banks of stored music collections for those users who require only one source. This new model delivers a lower cost solution for ELAN Home Systems owners, and gives our Dealers even greater options to meet their client's needs."
