Pine Brook, NJ, September 8, 2004 - Denon Electronics, a world leader in high -performance audio/video components, introduced a new line of advanced DVD players for 2004. The company's new players include two "universal" models (DVD -3910, SRP: $1,299, DVD -2910 SRP: $679) as well as two new high -performance, high -value players, the DVD -1910 (SRP: $269) and DVD -1710 (SRP: $179, currently available). With these additions to Denon's DVD player lineup, the company is continuing to set new standards in performance and features while providing real -world solutions for every possible home entertainment application, lifestyle and budget.
Jeff Talmadge, Denon Marketing Manager, noted: "As home entertainment continues to evolve, the DVD player is gaining increasing importance as the ultimate source component, fulfilling the need for both high -quality video and audio. To meet the needs of today's increasingly sophisticated consumers, we are making some of our most advanced features and technologies available in models throughout the line, not just in our top -of -the line players. This 'trickle -down' effect means that more consumers than ever will now be able to afford state -of -the -art DVD enjoyment."
The Denon Universal DVD Player Family
The new additions to Denon's family of universal DVD players, the DVD -3910 (Currently available) and DVD -2910 (September availability) feature a full selection of audio and video connections, including DVI -D (HDCP) digital video output, HDMI digital audio and video output, two component video outputs (BNC and RCA), S -video and two composite video outputs, plus coaxial and optical digital outputs and multi -channel analog audio outputs. The DVD -3910 also features an RS -232 port for two -way integrated system control.
DVD -3910: Reference -Quality Universal DVD Player Performance
The DVD -3910 includes virtually all of the advanced features, image enhancement technologies and audio benefits first introduced in Denon's acclaimed DVD -5900 DVD player, all for a significantly reduced price of $1,299 suggested retail. To ensure unsurpassed digital video image reproduction, for instance, the DVD -3910 features dual discrete Analog Devices ADV -7310 12 -bit/216MHz video D/A converters -one for the progressive scan video circuit and one for the interlaced circuit.
The player also delivers the ultimate in audio performance, with full digital bass management for high -resolution audio formats provided by dual Analog Devices SHARC processors, along with built -in Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound decoding. Performance is enhanced further through the use of leading -edge 192kHz/24 -bit audio D/A converters, along with the latest version of Denon's exclusive AL24 Processing Plus circuit, which now operates in 24 -bit/192kHz on all channels, using sophisticated interpolation algorithms and digital filtering to improve low -level resolution and dynamic range. In addition, it incorporates IEEE -1394 audio outputs (PCM/DSD compatible).
Adding yet another level of utility and convenience, the DVD -3910 features the latest version of Denon's proprietary DENON Link technology. When connected to a Denon receiver with Denon Link functionality, such as the AVR -5803, the receiver can accept digital audio data directly from the DVD players' transport sections for the ultimate level of sonic performance. The data can then be decoded and processed by the receiver's digital electronics for the absolute highest level of audio quality available today -with full digital bass management.
DVD -1910: High -End Features in a High -Value Product
The DVD -1910 (SRP: $269, currently available) brings true high -end DVD player performance to a more attractive price point than ever before. To provide the ultimate in high -quality video and audio playback performance, the DVD -1910 incorporates a wealth of advanced technologies and features. For instance, like the
DVD -3910, the DVD -1910 features a DVI -D (HDCP) digital video output which eliminates the digital -to -analog conversions required by other types of video connections and provides for the finest picture quality for today's newer displays, which support DVI. The DVI output's selectable scaling, to provide 480p, 720p or 1080i output, enables users to best match the characteristics of their particular digital video display device. To further enhance image quality, the DVD -1910 utilizes precision Analog Devices 10 -bit, 54MHz video D/A converters.
In addition, like Denon's flagship model, the DVD -1910 features the new Faroudja FLI2301 DCDi chipset, which provides a host of leading -edge image -enhancement technologies, such as improved Film Mode 3:2 pulldown detection and deinterlacing, and five Progressive Mode memory settings that enable viewers to fine -tune picture quality to their particular preference. Together, these advanced digital video technologies deliver remarkably clear, high -resolution image quality that is free from picture artifacts.
The DVD -1910 also features High Definition Compatible Digital (HDCD) processing to provide the best sound quality from HDCD -encoded and standard CDs, as well as WMA (Windows Media Audio) playback capability. And like all Denon universal DVD players, it also includes convenience functions such as Kodak and Fuji Picture CD compatibility and a JPEG photo file viewer.
DVD -2910: Attractive New Price Point
With a suggested retail price of $679 (a new price point for Denon), the new DVD -2910 makes some of the industry's most advanced features and benefits available in a player that would normally cost hundreds of dollar more. The DVD -2910, for example, features the same dual discrete leading -edge Analog Devices ADV -7310 12 -bit/216MHz video D/A converters as the DVD -3910, as well as built -in Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound decoding, 192kHz/24 -bit audio D/A converters, Faroudja FLI2310 DCDi chipset and much more.
Broad Range of DVD Players and Changers With WMA Capability
In addition to its three universal DVD players, Denon also offers two DVD changers and two additional DVD players featuring WMA (Windows Media Audio) playback capability. The WMA -capable DVM -2815 5 -Disc DVD -Audio/Video Changer (SRP: $469, currently available), DVM -1815 5 -Disc DVD -Video Changer (SRP: $329, currently available). Both offer unprecedented value and performance in their respective categories, with progressive scan component video output and a wealth of sophisticated technologies to deliver exceptional video and audio quality.
All Denon DVD players feature a wide range of performance and convenience features such as picture adjustment controls, intuitive on -screen menu systems that include easy WMA file navigation and
full -function remote controls.
