Home Control Assistant software now supports the initial set of UPB Residential Lighting Controls.
Northridge, March 26, 2004: Powerline Control Systems (www.pcslighting.com) is pleased to announce that Advanced Quonset Technology Inc (www.hcatech.com) now supports the initial set of UPB devices and controllers in its Home Control Assistant (HCA) software.
HCA, now in its 5th release since 1998, is end -user oriented with many features that enable creation of simple to complex automation solutions.
Support in HCA for UPB switches, modules, and keypads provide users who demand the high quality and reliability of UPB technology access to software for computer -controlled automation. HCA provides a platform for integration of UPB, X10, Wireless, and IR in one automation solution.
"With UPB, automation installers and users who have never been fully pleased with the reliability of other powerline carrier technologies can finally deploy a technology that works, first time, and every time", said Advanced Quonset (AQT) President, Kimberly Harms. "By incorporation of the features that Powerline Control Systems (PCS) has placed into its Powerline Interface Module (PIM), HCA takes advantage of it's noise sensing and command repeat features to intelligently control messaging on the UPB network for maximum reliability."
Stan Mann, PCS' VP & Director of Business Development and Licensing said, "HCA provides an option for UPB installations that require event or time based control beyond what we provide in our hardware products. With these added capabilities, installations can take the next step into integrating UPB devices into a complete intelligent solution. Advanced Quonset Technology is uniquely suited to develop this as they have been our development partner in both the UPB Setup Tool (UPStart) and our SceneMaster Configuration Program".
Using the same productivity features pioneered by Microsoft, HCA uses visual tools, wizards, extensive hints and help to quickly get a new user up and running. HCA provides the necessary breadth and depth of features to allow for the power -user to work at the levels they demand.
