Home Media Networks' Entertainment Software Licensed To Growing Number Of HTPC Manufacturers

Home Media Networks Ltd, developer of network -capable home entertainment software, today announced that its ShowShifter software is being used as the lynchpin to a growing number of Home Theatre PC (HTPC) manufacturers wishing to meet the mounting demands of consumers.


As the move towards using a HTPC as the core of a home entertainment network accelerates, Home Media Networks has sought to OEM copies of its award -winning home entertainment software, ShowShifter, to the growing number of HTPC manufacturers looking to exploit the space. ShowShifter now boasts over 500,000 users, with 30,000 a month, being downloaded.

"Up until recently, PCs sold to the home user have been broadly similar to those sold to the business user," said Home Media Network's CEO, John Croft. "Both big -brand PC manufacturers and small niche HTPC players are beginning to realise they can sell many more units if they add entertainment features such as ShowShifter to their machines"

ShowShifter allows users to watch, record and time -shift (pause) TV, play DVDs, CDs and MP3 music files all through one interface. The ability to control ShowShifter with a remote control and its unique Farview interface enables the consumer to use the product from anywhere in the room with a simple, unified interface for all home entertainment components (DVR, DVD, CD, etc. players), as with conventional home entertainment products.
