This year's spotlight is on flat panel displays (FPDs), especially LCD technology for TV sets, computer monitors, notebooks, PDAs and mobile phones.
Over 700 IT companies from Taiwan will attend this year's CeBIT. After Germany, Taiwan boasts the largest number of exhibitors. This year's spotlight is on flat panel displays (FPDs), especially LCD (liquid crystal display) technology for TV sets, computer monitors, notebooks, PDAs and mobile phones, and on PDP (plasma display panel) technology used with TV sets and information systems.
"The products underscore progress and expertise," explains Y.C. Chao, President of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). "FPDs are a major growth market. LCD and PDP technologies and applications guarantee innovative, quality products," "INNOVALUE" represents our ability to innovate for the global market.
Forty -one exhibitors will occupy Hall 24, Stand B 24, C23, C24, D23 and B32/1 at the Taiwan pavilions. TAITRA will occupy exhibition stand C24 -5. The Taiwan Trade Service Center will introduce buyers and customers to Taiwan manufacturers and help international companies to source goods and services from Taiwan.
TAITRA is sponsoring two events: a "Taiwan FPD: Laying the Groundwork for a Brighter, Clearer Tomorrow" Press Conference on 19 March (15:00 - 17:00), and a "Seeing Things Better with Taiwan FPD" New Product Launch on 21 March (16:00 - 18:15).
The press conference hosted by Mr. Konrad Chen, Director of the Taiwan Trade Center Düsseldorf, will present products and offer views on the FPD market.
C.E. Wang, President of DisplaySearch Taiwan, will discuss Taiwan FPD market development. After only five years of development, Taiwan's TFT LCD industry gained a 38% global share. Future product development will stress display and device integration in addition to speed and capacity. The INNOVALUE from Taiwan FPD and IT industries will play new roles in navigating the future.
Mr. Miin Wu, Chairman of Magic Pixel Inc., will discuss Taiwan's efforts to develop semiconductor component solutions, support applications for flat panels, and the advancement of design technology in Taiwan.
Dr. L.Y.Chen, Director of LCD TV Head Division / Marketing and Sales Division of Chi Mei Optoelectronics Corp. will share an LCD maker's view of LCD TVs. Mr. Frank Wu, Sector Executive of TECO Electric & Machinery Co., Ltd. will discuss the characteristics of TECO's LCD TVs. Mr. Y.Y. Wang, Senior General Manager of Display Business Unit, Tatung Co. will give a "Tatung Plasma Display Product Introduction."
Dr. Wei -Jen Hu, Representative, Taipei Representative Office, Federal Republic of Germany, and Dr. Karl -Ernst Brauner, Director General, External Economic Policy, Federal Republic of Germany will preside over the New Product Launch on Sunday (21 March).
Mr. Konrad Chen, Director of the Taiwan Trade Center Düsseldorf, will briefly discuss the strengths of Taiwan`s FPD industry and the business alliance services provided by TAITRA.
Cynthia Chyn, Deputy Managing Director of the Market Intelligence Center, Institute for Information Industry, will provide future growth projections for major display application markets, as well as prospects for panel supply and demand. Supply Chain dynamics will be addressed, along with a competitive analysis of the major East Asian panel suppliers as they meet a new wave of growth.
Dr. L.Y. Chen of Chi Mei Optoelectronics Corp., Frank Wu of TECO Electric and Machinery and Y.Y. Wang of Tatung will present the latest LCDs, LCD TVs, and PDPs.
