Home electronics integrators turn to event for education, inspiration and product information
Framingham, MA - March 18, 2004 - The electronics integration business is on fire, judging by turnout at Electronic House Expo Spring 2004. The fifth annual production of the trade event in Orlando, Florida drew 7,095 attendees, a 31 percent increase vs. 2003 to an exposition floor sized more than 50 percent larger than last year.
"EHX is hitting on all cylinders," stated John Galante, vice president of EH Events & Education. "We're successfully expanding and broadening the exhibiting company mix, increasing visitors turnout and motivation and adding substance, value and enjoyment to the experience for exhibitors and attendees alike. The Exhibit Floor
The EHX exhibit floor proved to be the largest in the event's five -year history, with 255 exhibiting companies in over 120,000 gross square feet of exhibit space. Among the largest exhibitors were OnQ Technologies, Panasonic, Rapid Response, LG Electronics, Crestron, Russound, Honeywell, Viewsonic and Sonance. It was not just the largest booths that attracted attention; Leeman Architectural Woodwork and Runco and Stewart Filmscreens constructed home theater showcases in meeting rooms adjacent to the floor and drew many a crowd. Both First Impression Home Theater and Proficient Audio enhanced their display presences by bringing large showcase vehicles. And interested crowds could always be found converging on the demo -crazy exhibits of Wing Enterprises and Bad Dog Tools. Additionally, several exhibitors reported a surge in order making by attendees.
The Conference Program
Over 650 conference attendees learned about home networking and automation, distributed audio, home theater, high performance audio, IP -enabled products, security, luxury markets, and marketing, management and operations in the hugely successful conference program, sponsored by CEDIA. EHX offered 51 seminars, eight boot camps, over 100 manufacturer training classes, and several keynotes and general sessions that illuminated the industry's future and fired attending integrators forward into it. EHX, along with sponsors D&H, Intel, CompTIA and Internet Home Alliance, also successfully launched a new co -located conference called the Digital Convergence Conference which was specially designed for computer VARs and IT professional interested in the home and CE/IT convergence market space.
Networking events at EHX united a diverse mix of electronic house industry pros. The EHX Conference Cooldown, sponsored by Unicom, drew hundreds of attendees after a long day of training. EHX After Hours entertained nearly 2,000 attendees and exhibitors at the close of the first day of exhibits. Additional networking events at EHX were the EHX First Timers Reception, hosted by Heneveld Dynamic Consulting, the CE Pro 100 Reception, sponsored by Oxmoor and TRUAudio, and CEA's TechHome Division's Mark of Excellence Awards, all of which helps create the fun, friendly, sociable environment that has EHX attendees wanting to attend the show year after year.
