SpeakerCraft Partners With Onkyo To Expand Its Global Distribution into the Japanese Market

Onkyo is named the exclusive distributor in Japan for SpeakerCraft

Riverside CA, March 2004: SpeakerCraft, America¹s original manufacturer of in -wall speakers, and Onkyo, one of the largest manufacturers of audio components in the Asian market, have formed a partnership to distribute SpeakerCraft products in Japan. Says Linda Van Zaten, Vice President of International Sales for SpeakerCraft, and Jeff Francisco, Vice President of Product Development for SpeakerCraft, "SpeakerCraft and Onkyo are widely -known and well -respected for their high -end products. Our partnership provides Onkyo with a new solution as they deepen themselves into the custom installation market. Correspondingly, this offers us distribution into an emerging market."

Says Tom Ishii, Executive Vice President for Onkyo U.S.A., "We are very pleased with this relationship. Japanese consumers want innovative high -quality, high -end products. They understand and appreciate the importance of advanced technology. SpeakerCraft meets these requirements and they are the perfect match for us."

Says Tom Ishii, "The Japanese market is slightly behind the US market in terms of home theaters. This is simply because the size of Japanese homes are physically smaller than U.S. homes. Japanese consumers don¹t want large unsightly boxes taking up valuable space. Thus, SpeakerCraft in -wall speakers provide a great solution when space is limited, and without compromising the sound quality. Furthermore, SpeakerCraft¹s exclusive pivoting driver design provides an ideal solution when placement is limited."

According to Tom Ishii, "We are working with a major homebuilder in Japan for pre -fabricated home theater rooms, which are built in the factory and then installed into the consumer¹s home. I think our partnership with SpeakerCraft is perfect for this application because SpeakerCraft products offer intensive acoustic technology, such as acoustic isolations. Japan is a trend -setter for many other Asian countries, so we expect that they will follow suit, creating an even larger market."
