Sentry Security Systems Inc. announces the new Sentry LE Series Linux -based Embedded DVRs

Sentry Security Systems Inc is pleased to announce the release of the new Sentry LE series Digital Video Recorders (DVRs).

Kingston - February 23, 2004 - Sentry Security Systems Inc is pleased to announce the release of the new Sentry LE series Digital Video Recorders (DVRs). Sentry LE series DVRs combine the reliability advantage of a Linux -based OS and application software embedded in firmware with the availability and upgradeability of industry compatible PC hardware. With systems supporting from 4 to 16 CCTV cameras, Sentry LE series DVRs provide a high quality, ultra -reliable digital surveillance solution for government, industry, commercial and residential applications. The LE Series offers superior video compression, high video quality, high quality remote access and a simple plug -and -play modular design. The easy -to -use Linux -based firmware of the LE series increases the opportunities available for dealers when approaching new clients. In particular, local operation can be accomplished by IR remote controller (rather like a TV or VCR), as well as by mouse, providing a more comfortable "feel" for users without PC experience.

"The modular design is new to the embedded DVR market" said Michael Munnelly, Director of Information Technology at Sentry Security Systems Inc. "The ability to easily upgrade the number of cameras as well as replace individual components of the DVR open up huge opportunities for our dealers and resellers servicing the upgrade needs of existing clients and when approaching new business."

Highlighted Features:
o Multi -camera board capable: Add up to 4 camera input boards (16 cameras total) in each digital video recorder.
o Modular: Individual components can be replaced as needed meaning the whole DVR doesn't have to be replaced when servicing and upgrading.
o Complete integration: PTZ cameras and alarm inputs/outputs can be easily integrated with the LE series.
o VGA video output for high quality display at 320x240 or 640x480 pixel resolution per camera.
o Built in 10/100 LAN adapter for fast, quality remote access.
o High Compression Ratio: H.263 (MPEG4 -like) proprietary compression, designed specifically for CCTV applications, provides better compression and higher quality video recording.
o Control: On -screen programming using either an infra -red remote control or mouse. In addition, the LE Series DVRs can be set -up remotely via Internet, under password protection.
o Embedded: No software on the hard drive to corrupt, for maximum reliability. Cannot be virus attacked over the Internet.
