BAKERSFIELD, CA, Feb. 17, 2004 - - M.D. Manufacturing, Inc., an award -winning specialist in the design and manufacture of high -performance whole -house central vacuum systems, has announced the launch of the first industry -wide Home Automation/Central Vacuum Survey - along with the prize of round -trip tickets for two to this year's CEDIA EXPO Conference and Exhibition, Sept. 8 -12, in Indianapolis, Indiana.

CEDIA is a global trade association of companies that specialize in planning and installing electronic systems for the home.

"This survey will give us an important opportunity to learn about buying trends, what dealers and installers like and don't like, and what issues they feel are important," said Grant Olewiler, General Manager of M.D. Manufacturing. "It covers a previously overlooked aspect of the industry, and will help custom installers develop a better understanding of the marketplace and the views of their peers."

The 16 -question survey is intended to provide an insider's profile of the rapidly growing central vacuum business, from manufacturers to end users. Participants will be able to voice their own comments and opinions about central vacuum manufacturers and other aspects of the business, and will be automatically entered to win the airline tickets to Indianapolis, or a cash equivalent. Survey participants must be a member of the central vacuum or home automation industry, or related professions.

The survey is being broadly distributed within the industry and can be found, complete with all rules and regulations, on the SurveyMonkey Web site at www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=8523372396. Results from the survey will be released shortly after its conclusion on July 8.
