microCommander's interactive graphical interface offers more control capability than just timers and logic
Intec Automation Inc. announced the release of microCommander v2. This highly interactive HMI software for automation and control offers support for X10 devices, in addition to conventional sensors and actuators. This enables X10 devices to interface seamlessly with non -X10 sensors and actuators under the control of any of a number of popular embedded microcontrollers or single board computers (SBCs).
Until now, most critical and non -critical functions have been controlled by separate automation systems. With microCommander software, less -critical X10 functions can be handled by the same SBC that is controlling critical sensors and actuators. This combined automation solution offers the advantage of high reliability of conventional control devices with the cost savings of X10 devices which are so inexpensive to install.
This entire hybrid system is accessed via a unified user interface with microCommander's visual control HMI. The logic for the control system is developed using microCommander's simple "programming without programming" Component technology with Internet connectivity and a rich assortment of virtual instruments built -in.
A free download of microCommander is available from www.microCommander.com, so integrators and users can experience just how easy it is to program microcontrollers with microCommander by actually doing this on a live microcontroller connected to the Internet.
