Cingular Wireless Selects PCTEL's Segue™ Roaming Client

Cingular to Deploy Multimode Roaming Client Software

Chicago, IL - January 29, 2004 - PCTEL Inc. (NASDAQ: PCTI), a leading provider of intelligent wireless solutions, announced today that it would supply Cingular Wireless with its Segue™ Roaming Client. Under the terms of a recently signed three -year agreement, PCTEL will license a Cingular -branded version of the Roaming Client that will simplify access to Cingular's wireless networks. The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

PCTEL's customers have deployed the Segue™ Roaming Client worldwide. The client has been bundled with 802.11 chipsets and licensed to major carriers within and outside the U.S.

The Segue™ Roaming Client provides mobile users secure, seamless access and roaming capabilities for cellular data networks in public areas, at the office, and in the home. The Segue™ Roaming Client enables rapid scanning of available networks and a user -friendly connection process.
