AMR System using ITRAN'S IT800D PLC Modem IC Introduced by Century Controls in CPRI Exhibition

A Power Line Communication (PLC) Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) system, using ITRAN Communications' IT800D High Performance PLC modem chip, has been introduced and demonstrated last week by its developer, Century Controls of Bangalore, India.

A Power Line Communication (PLC) Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) system, using ITRAN Communications' (www.ITRANcomm.com) IT800D High Performance PLC modem chip, has been introduced and demonstrated last week by its developer, Century Controls of Bangalore, India (www.centurysystech.com).

The AMR system was demonstrated in an exhibition, during the "National Workshop on Communication Protocol for Power System Automation", conducted on 22nd & 23rd Jan 2004 by CPRI (Central Power Research Institute) Bangalore, a premier research institute under the Ministry of Power (MoP), government of India.
"We were very pleased to introduce the system and already see enthusiastic response from the market. ITRAN'S PLC technology with their excellent in time application support paved way for a smooth implementation of the system" said V.T. Chandra Sekaran, CEO of Century Controls.
The demonstration included a pole mounted metering cubicle and four cluster meters with a comprehensive billing system. Each of Century's pole mounted metering cubicles can cater to 18 single -phase cluster meters and each cluster meter can cater to 4 consumers. The robust Repeater Protocol in each of the pole mounted metering cubicles and cluster meters permits the existing customers to be read automatically without having to change their existing power wiring.
"I am very pleased that our efforts and focus on the Indian market have started to yield results", said Avner Matmor, CEO of ITRAN. "We are looking in India for the same success we have achieved in Japan. The IT800D provides the required performance and communication robustness, and we expect additional customers in India, currently in various evaluation and development stages, to introduce systems and products later this year".
ITRAN is represented in India by Hynetic Electronics (www.hynetic.com).

PureLink - HCE III TX/RX: 4K HDR over HDBaseT Extension System w/ Control and Bi-Directional PoE

The HCE III Tx/Rx HDBaseT™ extension system offers full HDMI 2.0 compliance supporting HDR (High Dynamic Range) and 4K@60Hz with 4:4:4 chroma sampling. Featuring PureLink's proprietary Prcis codec, a light compression technology, the HCE III can transport Ultra HD/4K, multi-channel audio, and High Dynamic Range (10 bits support) content over a single CATx cable. The HCE III provides HDMI extension up to 130 feet (40 meters) at Ultra HD/4K and up to 230 ft. (70 meters) at 1080p over category cable with embedded multi-channel audio, CEC pass-through, bi-directional RS-232 and IR control, and PoE - all with zero loss and zero noise. The HCE III Tx/Rx also supports Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD Master Audio plus LCPM (up to 192 kHz). Additionally, the low profile "slim box" enclosure design make the HCE III ideal for limited space installation environments, such as behind flat panel displays and video walls.
