Sonance introduced the Sonance Trio Triple Tuner, an AM/FM tuner designed for homes and commercial buildings outfitted with multi-zone audio entertainment systems.
Sonance®, the leader in architectural audio, has introduced the Sonance Trio Triple Tuner, an AM/FM tuner designed for homes and commercial buildings outfitted with multi -zone audio entertainment systems. Named an "Audio Honoree" in the Consumer Electronics Association's 2004 Innovations Design & Engineering Showcase, Trio features three built -in tuners, enabling it to play up to three different stations simultaneously over the same audio system, allowing listeners in different rooms to choose stations without interrupting or changing another listener's selection.
Trio is the first and only multi -zone tuner equipped with RDS technology, enabling users to search for stations by program format or call letters rather than by frequency. However, Trio's 45 station presets per tuner (45X3), accessible via remote or its front panel control, will minimize the need for station scanning, except for the most obscure or rarely listened to broadcasts.
"Radio is still far and away Americans' most common source of news and entertainment, with more than 100 million listeners every day," said Hal Hufford, Sonance vice president of sales and marketing. "For years, Sonance installers have been designing residential and commercial audio systems with two, three, or more separate radio tuners. Trio makes the job much easier, plus it offers many conveniences, such as rear -panel serial and network controller connections (RS485 & RS232) and a front panel headphone jack, that simplify installation, set -up, and maintenance."
Hufford said Trio was designed for use with Sonance's new multi -zone control system, the Sonance Navigator Harbor and the Navigator K2, and other Sonance controllers. The Trio features several tuning modes and provides built -in compensation for U.S. Standard and European AM broadcast standards.
The Trio triple tuner has two coaxial FM antenna connectors, allowing connection to an outdoor aerial as well as radio services delivered by cable or DSS, and 1 coaxial AM connector for connection to an outdoor aerial as well. All signal outputs are made via standard RCA jacks on the tuner's rear panel, and the unit is programmable via included remote, front panel or via RS485 & RS232 connections.
Trio can stand on a shelf or be rack -mounted for maximum space efficiency. The Trio triple tuner is only one rack space high. The manufacturer's suggest retail price for Trio is $850.00. It is available this month.
