The FIPS 140 -2 Validation process ensures compliance with both U.S. and Canadian Government security standards established by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Canadian Communications Security Establishment. Based on extensive laboratory testing, FIPS Validation assures a high level of security and a cryptographically sound module that is required by Government agencies, most notably the Department of Defense, and increasingly sought by security conscious Enterprise customers.
