FT. LAUDERDALE, FL - November 17, 2003 - AVAD, America's leading distributor of custom home technology, announced it has joined the National Council of the Housing Industry. This special standing committee of the National Association of Home Builders consists of over 90 building industry suppliers, as well as related building industry trade associations. AVAD joins the group as part of its effort to uphold the highest possible product and service standards.
"Joining the NCHI is our latest step toward preparing AVAD's ability to bring builders nationwide the level of service that has been so beneficial for its dealers," said Joe Piccirilli, managing director of AVAD. "With the launch of the Dealer To Builder (D2B) program, AVAD plans to work directly with organizations that support the building industry. As a member of the NCHI, AVAD will work toward addressing the challenges facing those builders who want to strengthen their professional capabilities - -in satisfying the growing demands for home technology from the ground level."
As a member of the NCHI, AVAD will be part of a collective effort to provide builders a resource for advocacy, education, and networking. AVAD will directly communicate with NAHB members, to target the projects that are mutually beneficial for NCHI and builder members. One of the ways the NCHI accomplishes this is by sponsoring educational programs to improve marketing and communication skills, and to provide a better understanding of the building industry. Council members also gain access to information services that keep them current on the state of homebuilding across the United States, as well as on pending regulatory activities critical to industry welfare.
The National Council of the Housing Industry (NCHI) is a special standing committee of NAHB, which gives leading building suppliers and service providers the opportunity to participate in NAHB activities, affect housing issues, and gain direct access to NAHB members.
Founded in 1964, NCHI consists of more than 90 distinguished building industry suppliers, as well as related building industry trade associations. These members are proven industry leaders with solid reputations for reliable service and innovative products. As members of NCHI, they set themselves apart from other manufacturers and service organizations by committing to the highest possible product and service standards.
Active in NAHB at all levels, including councils and committees; NCHI members serve as a unique problem -solving resource on a variety of issues. Members work closely with NAHB`s senior officers - - the key decision makers for national housing policy - - to ensure that the interests of suppliers are properly conveyed and considered during policy development activities.
NCHI members are a driving force at NAHB`s annual International Builders` Show; they occupy more than 45 percent of the total exhibit space and display the latest in building materials and technology.
