LONG BEACH, CA, November 10, 2003 - Demonstrating its leadership position in high -performance home theater technology, Marantz America will showcase its leading -edge DVD -Audio/Video/SACD Player, the Model DV8400, at EHX 2003 (Booth #1006). The THX Select -certified DV8400 builds upon the extraordinary performance and features of its predecessor (Model DV8300), with improvements including a fully activated DVI digital video output with HDCP (High -Bandwidth Content Protection), an upgraded audio section, RS -232 control capability and other refinements.
The Marantz DV8400 is the ultimate all -in -one home entertainment source component, thanks to its ability to play back both DVD -Audio and Super Audio Compact Discs (SACD), along with superlative progressive scan DVD -Video playback and much more.
The DV8400: Universal Playback Compatibility, Unsurpassed Image Quality
The Marantz DV8400 is engineered for ultimate audio and video performance in every respect. Along with two -channel and multi -channel DVD -Audio and SACD capability, the DV8400 offers universal playback compatibility, enabling users to play back DVD -Video, CD, CD -R/RW, DVD -R/RW, MP3, Video CD and Super Video CD discs.
The DV8400 delivers a spectacular new level of digital video image quality, thanks to its DVI digital video output with HDCP. This direct digital connection between the source component and the display device eliminates the digital -to -analog conversions required by other types of video connections and enables the best -quality reception of digital television broadcasts, including HDTV and copy -protected broadcasts.
The Marantz DV8400 also features progressive scan component video output with true 3:2 and 2:2 pulldown detection and advanced digital video processing circuitry for the best -possible reproduction of film -based DVD -Video discs, and includes S -Video and composite video outputs, plus digital, two -channel and multichannel analog audio outputs. In addition, the DV8400 provides a full range of picture adjustments such as a fine -tunable Video Adjust function, enabling viewers to "dial in" the picture quality according to their personal preferences.
Along with unsurpassed video performance, the DV8400 delivers equally state -of -the -art audio performance, with full bass management for DVD -Video, DVD -Audio and SACD discs and built -in Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound decoding. The player features a redesigned audio section that includes enhancements such as an all -copper double -layered chassis and upgraded internal components, along with high -performance audio technologies such as leading -edge 192kHz/24 -bit audio D/A converters, discrete multi -channel audio circuitry utilizing Marantz's exclusive HDAM (High -Definition Amplifier Module) output stages and many additional refinements. A "Video Off" function turns off the video circuitry during audio -only playback, for maximum sonic purity. The result is remarkably natural, detailed, dynamic and enveloping sound quality, conveying movie soundtracks and music with astonishing realism and emotional impact.
Like all Marantz DVD players, the DV8400 includes a wealth of convenience features and viewing options and adds an RS -232 connection to enable two -way integrated system control. All functions can be easily controlled via its multi -language on -screen menu, remote control and intuitive front -panel control layout.
The Marantz DV8400 DVD -Audio/Video/SACD Player is currently available at a suggested retail price of $1,699.
