Leading control manufacturer now offers education program directly to AIA members and has a team of dedicated team of architectural market specialists

ROCKLEIGH, NJ, October 23, 2003 - Crestron is proud to announce that the company has been approved by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) to provide accredited courses for its membership.

By its selection as an approved AIA provider (provider #J592), Crestron has illustrated that its educational program offers architects important and timely information pertaining to control and lighting solutions for both the residential and commercial marketplace.

"It is an honor to be working with the AIA and its members," says Director of Market Development Christopher Wildfoerster, who has spearheaded Crestron's architect outreach program from its inception. "Our mission is to educate the architectural community to ensure they are aware of the impact that control systems and associated technologies have on their designs. Also, we discuss in detail the variety of sustainable control platforms that are available today while explaining and also explain the process of getting the correct system for a their project designed and installed."

In support of this effort, Crestron now employs a dedicated team of Architectural Market Specialists who make presentations to local AIA chapters, offer their support to systems integrators, assist in system design and work with end users. These specialists are providing a valuable resource for the architectural design team, their client and our dealers.

Crestron currently offers three approved "Control by Design" courses:

Introduction to Control Systems - Residential
Introduction to Control Systems - Enterprise
Low Voltage Lighting Control - Residential

Since the program's inception, Crestron has presented "Control by Design" to over 200 architects, with each receiving 1 LU towards their Health, Safety, Welfare requirements for their AIA membership and, in many cases, their state licensing requirements.

"Architects are extremely interested in how these systems affect the livability of their design, where it fits into the construction process and the positive impact on the overall value of the project," Shelly Flynn, Crestron Architectural Market Specialist explains.
