Thompson Joins AVAD`s D2B Program as Trainer

FT. LAUDERDALE, FL - October 20, 2003 - AVAD LLC, the custom home technology distributor, announced today the addition of Charles Thompson to the education team heading the Dealer to Builder (D2B) program. Thompson joins the training department as the home theater expert. His presentations will detail all aspects of creating a superbly functional, efficient home theater. AVAD's D2B program aims to expand the capabilities of a trained and certified dealer corps by joining them with the best builders in the United States, who are in great need of qualified system integrators.

"With so many new audio, video, display, programming, and DVD technologies on the horizon, it is imperative that CI professionals sustain their position at the forefront of home theater and whole -house entertainment systems," Thompson said. "D2B's education program will be the industry benchmark for CI skills and knowledge training, and I am honored to be a small part of that."

"We are glad to have Charles aboard for our D2B training and certification program," said Joe Piccirilli, managing director of AVAD. "With over ten years in training experience, he is a perfect addition to the team. D2B is an ambitious initiative and I have full confidence that the group we've assembled to help guide it will fulfill each of the objectives we've outlined."

In addition to authoring the portion of the program that pertains to all items related to home theater, Thompson will be a component of the D2B presentation staff, which will travel to AVAD locations throughout the country to lead the initiative.

Dealers participating in the D2B certification process will be trained on all the technological disciplines in which today's competitive custom installers must be proficient. Addressing home theater, whole -house audio/video, structured wiring, lighting, central vacuum, telephony, and networking, certified dealers will be equipped to provide the lifestyle benefits increasingly demanded of new home builders. After covering program materials authored by Joe Piccirilli, Frank White, Darrel McComber, as well as the "AVAD Basic" segment led by Keith Davis, participating dealers will take a certification test to be matched up with the appropriate home builder in accordance to the installers' qualifications.
