Parasound enhances the flexibility and utility of its popular Halo T 3 FM/AM Tuner by adding two-way RS-232 capability.
INDIANAPOLIS, IN (9/4/03) - - Parasound has enhanced the flexibility and utility of its popular Halo T 3 FM/AM Tuner by adding two -way RS -232 capability.
Previously, the Halo T 3 had one -way RS -232, which allowed it to respond to commands from home automation control systems such as those made by Crestron and AMX, but the operator had no way of knowing the band or frequency of the radio station that was playing or status of the tuner functions.
With two -way RS -232, the operator will be able to read out the whether the station is FM or AM, its frequency, the preset ID number of the channel, and to confirm operation.
"There are only a few other tuners with this capability," said Richard Schram, President, Parasound Products, "and none has the reception capabilities or audio prowess of the T 3. Moreover, they all cost much more than Parasound's Halo T 3. This is a feature which was requested by a number of custom installers, and we're both grateful for the useful feedback and pleased that Parasound has the engineering know -how to satisfy our customers' requirements."
The Parasound Halo T 3 with two -way RS232 is currently available with the same suggested retail price of $600. A press release documenting the other features of the Parasound Halo T 3 can be found at: http://www.gspr.com/parasound/h_t3.html.
