Homeportal, Inc. today announced the Homeportal XTN™ Connector for Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004, a companion product to the Homeportal XTN Digital Services Hub. XTN Connector for Windows XP Media Center Edition allows Media Center users to browse and interact with services, devices and content in their Homeportal XTN environment, using the Media Center remote control and user interface. The Homeportal XTN Connector for Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition will be commercially available on December 1, 2003.

The Homeportal XTN Digital Services Hub is a platform used by operators to deliver digital services to consumers through Internet -enabled devices. Examples of such services are streaming music, video, security, health care, telephony, energy management and appliance monitoring. Hub operators include utilities, telcos, cable companies, portals and appliance manufacturers. The central XTN Hub handles service administration, procurement, real -time delivery and billing.
Media Center PC users who receive services from the Homeportal XTN Digital Services Hub will see that the XTN Connector for Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition is integrated into the Media Center "Start" menu. Using the Media Center remote control, users can view the status of existing services and subscribe to new ones, interact with devices and appliances, and initiate transactions. The simple Media Center interface helps users accomplish any task quickly and easily from the comfort of their living room.
