KHT1005 Follows in Tradition of Award Winning KHT2005

KEF Audio has announced details of its new, affordable KHT1005 Home Theater Package, which brings the world famous, award -winning KEF KHT technology, philosophy and - above all - sound quality to a wider audience at an entry -level price.

The KEF KHT2005 (now in version 2) took the consumer electronics world by storm when it was first introduced just over a couple of years ago. Its revolutionary looks have been copied by a plethora of imitators but its outstanding performance has been impossible to re -create and awards around the world were heaped upon this remarkable system. The new KHT1005 is a direct offspring of the KHT2005, offering style and sonic presentation unheard of at the price.

The sleek silver or black finished KHT1005 is comprised of four satellites (HTS1001), a center channel speaker (HTC1001) - all closed box design - and a beautifully matched powered sub -woofer (PSW 1150). In die -cast aluminum enclosures, the satellites and center speaker incorporate the smallest ever (75 mm/3 inch) brand -new KEF UNI -Q® array for excellent dispersion and, as the center speaker has an identical array, perfect timbre match across all 5 channels. Extended bandwidth is achieved through the use of a new 15 mm (0.6 inch) aluminum HF unit. Optional wall mounting brackets are available, as well as optional stands with cable management facility.

The PSW1150 powered sub -woofer (with a 150 watt on -board amplifier and a 200 mm (8 inch) long -throw front firing driver) utilizes a new slot port design and additionally features a ground lift switch, a 12dB/24dB slope switch and a cinema/music switch for selection between differing types of output. It also has variable - frequency, phase and level adjustment, line level inputs and high pass outputs.

The KEF KHT1005 is the result of KEF engineers' unyielding quest to create a stylish, flexible, compact system delivering both a great theater experience and audiophile sound quality at an affordable price.

Yale Real Living™ Assure Lock™ with Bluetooth

The new Yale Real Living™ Assure Lock™ with Bluetooth replaces conventional keys with digital keys accessed through the Yale Digital Keys app for Android and iOS mobile devices, and through an app for the new Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch. The Yale app allows homeowners to unlock doors, send keys to others, control when others have access, get a message when someone enters, and revoke a digital key at any time. Unlocking the deadbolt couldn't be simpler, whether using the Samsung Gear S2 or a smartphone. With the new Samsung Gear S2, touch the watch app to activate the digital key, then touch the lock screen to unlock the deadbolt. With a smartphone, Yale's "Twist and Go" technology allows the user to hold the phone vertically when approaching the door, then twist it 90 degrees to unlock the deadbolt. Homeowners can also unlock the deadbolt using its capacitive touchscreen and a four- to eight-digit code.
