MuxLab Announces the World's Smallest Component Video Balun

VideoEase Component Video Balun (p/n 500021) allows component video (HDTV, YPbPr) to be connected via copper twisted pair instead of bulky and costly coax cable in a point-to-point connection.

MONTREAL, CANADA - MuxLab, a recognized leader for its balun and connectivity solutions for copper twisted pair, announces its latest VideoEase Component Video Balun (p/n 500021), the smallest of its kind on the market.

MuxLab's Component Video Balun allows consumer and professional audio -video installers to connect component YPbPr equipment via copper twisted pair instead of bulky and costly coax cable in a point -to -point connection. One pair of Component Video Baluns is required to convert one of the component video signals from coax to twisted pair cable. Three (3) pairs of baluns are required to convert the complete three -part YPbPr component video signal to twisted pair, allowing one (1) 4 -pair Category 5 cable to replace three (3) coax cables for greater cost savings and neater cabling.

The Component Video Balun supports component video for distances up to 1,000 feet (305m) via Category 5 twisted pair. Additionally, when used in pairs, the product supports composite NTSC video for distances up to 2,200 (670m) feet via Category 5 twisted pair cable. The product features one gold -plated RCA male connector for coax and one pair of screw terminals for connection to copper twisted pair. The product is designed to streamline point -to -point cabling connections in a wide variety of audio video scenarios including home theatre, classroom audio -video systems, podium presentation systems and boardroom projection systems.

Slightly wider than an RCA connector, the Component Video Balun is the world's smallest of its kind, allowing it to fit into the tightest locations. The balun's narrow dimension allows several baluns to fit side by side on the back of any audio -video equipment such as a DVD, VCR, audio -video switcher, satellite receiver, component video monitor, and HDTV receivers and displays.

As part of MuxLab's quality assurance, every unit is live -tested in production, epoxy sealed to prevent contamination from moisture and dust and features built -in cable strain relief.

The VideoEase Component Video Balun (p/n 500021) is available immediately for a suggested list price of $35.00 (U.S.) from MuxLab stocking distributors. For more information please visit the company's web site at http://www.muxlab.com.
