OpenPeak Filing New Round Of Key Patent Applications


BOCA RATON, FLORIDA AND INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA - September 4, 2003 - OpenPeak Inc., a software company focused on simplifying control and communication across electronic devices within wireless environments, today announced it will file a new round of patent applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

The first patent applications in the new round will be directed to a number of core areas of technology underlying the company's Thinking Homes solution, including: (1) an advanced graphic user interface for providing simple and easy control of multiple consumer electronic devices in a multi -room home environment; (2) a system enabling programistic and automated control of consumer electronic devices using an interactive, wirelessly accessible control database or library; (3) a system for synchronizing remote control units in peer -to -peer and client -server environments, and (4) a system employing user -defined control operations that are automatically and dynamically executed.
"We are continuously focused on expanding our intellectual property portfolio to protect our shareholders' investment in our technology and to strengthen the foundation on which we provide advanced wireless control and communication solutions for use by our OEM partners," said Andrew Lona, Chief Marketing Officer of OpenPeak. Earlier this year, OpenPeak filed patent applications relating to its wireless control and communication software offerings.
