TAPPAN WIRE & CABLE ANNOUNCES THE PRODUCTION OF RG6/U TYPE CABLES

Tappan Wire now manufactures RG6/U CCTV Cable and RG6/U Quad Shield For Closed Circuit Television, Broadband Video/MATV, and Satellite Applications.

BLAUVELT, New York - - - - August 1, 2003 - - -Tappan Wire & Cable announces their production of RG6/U CCTV plus 16/2 Siamese for use with security cameras. This construction is ideal for transmission of a video signal over extended distances with reduced loss. Tappan Wire also continues to offer their RG6/U Quad Shield coaxial cable with the introduction of two plenum versions that are equivalent to Comm -Scope 2227V and 2227K.


Tappan's RG6/U CCTV plus 16/2 Siamese minimizes having to pull multiple cables to each camera site. The cable contains an RG6/U 18awg Solid Bare Copper Center with a 95% Bare Copper Braid. Its Siamese counterpart is a 16awg 2 conductors, stranded bare copper that typically is used for limited power to the camera.

Tappan's RG6/U quad shield coaxial cable is ideal for Broadband Video, Video Distribution, MATV and Satellite applications. This cable is offered with a bare copper or copper covered steel center conductor. Tappan is now offering two different plenum versions that include an overall flexible Low Smoke Jacket or a Fluoropolymer 150 DEG C rated Jacket.

The advantage to Tappan's RG6/U CCTV is to transmit signals over longer distances with minimal loss and more available bandwidth. Similarly, Tappan's RG/6 quad shield is ideal for Home Satellite applications in the Home Theater market segment as well as MATV and some CATV applications.
